Beautiful Windows, Beautifully Controlled: Custom Graber Shades for Napa & Wine Country Homes

"The right window treatment doesn't just filter light — it sets the entire mood of a room."

If you've ever walked into a space and immediately felt at ease, there's a good chance the windows had something to do with it. At BDS Interior Design, Robert Boccabella has spent years helping clients across Northern California's most scenic counties transform their homes through thoughtful, expertly sourced interior solutions. One of his most sought-after offerings? Custom Graber window shades.

Graber is one of the most respected names in custom window treatments — a brand built on superior fabrics, precision manufacturing, and a breadth of styles that genuinely covers every need. Through BDS Interior Design, local clients get the full Graber catalog with the added benefit of Robert's hands-on design expertise and personalized service.

Robert serves clients throughout Lake County, Napa County, Sonoma County, and Mendocino County — from Calistoga and St. Helena vineyard estates to Healdsburg farmhouses and Ukiah craftsman homes.

The Graber Shades Collection

Robert offers the complete Graber shades lineup — each style engineered to solve a specific design challenge, whether that's managing the intense afternoon sun on a Napa vineyard property or softening a Sonoma farmhouse living room with warm, diffused light.

Cellular Shades

Honeycomb construction traps air for superior insulation — ideal for energy-conscious Wine Country homes where comfort and efficiency go hand in hand.

Layered / Zebra Shades

Alternating sheer and solid bands give you seamless control between open views and full privacy. A modern, graphic look that works beautifully in contemporary interiors.

Natural / Woven Shades

Organic textures — bamboo, jute, and woven grass — bring warmth and earthiness to any interior. Perfect for the relaxed, nature-connected aesthetic of Wine Country living.

Pleated Shades

Crisp, structured folds available in a wide range of fabrics. Clean lines and compact profiles make these a natural fit for contemporary and transitional interiors.

Roller Shades

Timeless simplicity in hundreds of fabrics, from full blackout to open-weave sheer. Available with motorization options for effortless daily use.

Roman Shades

Soft, elegant fabric folds that add a tailored, custom look to any room. Available in Classic and Tailored styles — each bringing a different level of structure and formality.

Sheer Shades

Soft light diffusion without sacrificing elegance. A graceful alternative to heavy drapes that keeps rooms bright and airy while maintaining privacy.

Solar Shades

Block UV rays and glare while preserving your views. Essential for California's sun-drenched exposures — protecting furniture and floors without darkening your space.

Exterior Solar Shades

Mounted outside the window to stop heat before it enters. Maximum energy efficiency for western-facing rooms and outdoor patios — a smart choice for Napa Valley homes that bake in the late-afternoon sun.

Sliding Panels

Designed for large windows, sliding glass doors, and open room dividers. Architecturally bold and ideal for the expansive, open-plan spaces common in Northern California homes.

Why Work With Robert?

Purchasing window treatments through a skilled interior designer is a fundamentally different experience from shopping online. Robert measures every window himself, advises on fabric selection for your specific light conditions and lifestyle, and handles the ordering details so that what arrives fits perfectly — and looks exactly as envisioned.

For clients in Lake, Napa, Sonoma, and Mendocino counties, this means access to Graber's full product line with local, personalized service that online retailers simply can't match. Whether you're furnishing a Calistoga hillside retreat, a Healdsburg farmhouse, or a Ukiah craftsman bungalow, BDS Interior Design can source the perfect shade for every room and every window.

Motorization options are available across most shade styles — so you can raise or lower your shades from your phone or integrate them with a smart home system. It's the kind of detail that, once you have it, you wonder how you ever lived without.
